The World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas ended in July, but the chase for gold bracelets is never-ending these days.
Poker players outside the United States are currently battling it out for some jewelry on GGPoker. American players can join in on the fun later this month on WSOP Online (formerly WSOP.com) for a separate series that runs Sept. 29 to November 12. There will be 33 gold bracelets up for grabs on the Michigan-New Jersey-Nevada network. Pennsylvania players can compete in a secondary series that features four events.
The series kicks off with a $500 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack event and $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Mystery Bounty ($500,000 guaranteed) on the 29th. Those first two tournaments should generate massive fields to kickstart what should be an entertaining series.
There are five events on the schedule that have guaranteed prize pools, all of which happen to be of the Mystery Bounty variety. No-limit hold'em will be the most prevalent poker variant played during the series. But there are also some tournaments for the non-hold'em grinders, such as the $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Max Championship on Nov. 5.
The buy-ins for the series range from $250 up to the Oct. 15 $5,300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller, and most events are scheduled to complete within one day. Nov. 10 is the start of the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Online Championship, the most anticipated tournament of the series.
“Grab your chargers and get ready,” said Senior Vice President and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker, Ty Stewart. “With legal jurisdictions on both coasts and now in the Midwest with Michigan, most U.S. players should be within a reasonable distance to log onto our network and get in on the action. The WSOP Online 2024 domestic schedule should feature the largest online prize pools of the year that players will not want to miss.”
The WSOP Online Bracelet Series is open to all players on the online poker platform, not just those who reside in the three shared liquidity states. But it is required of all players to be located in Michigan, New Jersey, or Nevada during the time of play. The same is true for those competing in the Pennsylvania series.
